Goals, Vision and Outlook

The Animal Science Department began operating in 1986 under the name of the Animal Affairs Department. This department currently accepts students in three academic levels: Bachelor of Animal Science, Master of Animal Science with three majors: "Genetics and Animal Breeding", "Poultry Nutrition" and "Animal Nutrition", and Doctor of Animal Science with three majors: "Genetics and Animal Breeding", "Poultry Nutrition" and "Animal Nutrition". The Animal Science Department has 12 faculty members in the scientific ranks of assistant professors and associate professors who, while teaching relevant courses, also engage in scientific and research activities.
As one of the oldest educational departments of the university, the Animal Science Department has always provided valuable services to the University of Zabol and the region by training specialized personnel and working in the fields of education and research. The main goal of the Animal Science Department is to serve the region and the country through education, developing science, and conducting research that leads to innovation and training entrepreneurial human resources. In this regard, the Animal Science Department considers itself committed to helping the university move towards becoming an entrepreneurial university (third generation), strengthening the university's scientific and innovative production process, strengthening the effects of the university's scientific activities in increasing the wealth of the region, helping to improve the university's position in scientific rankings, increasing the number of internationally indexed articles and increasing the number of international citations of articles per professor, creating research teams, and conducting targeted and applied research in the field of nutrition and breeding of quail and native chickens.
