The country's top herbal medicine thesis was awarded to a doctoral student from Zabol University.

According to the Public Relations Department of Zabol University, at the 25th National Plant Medicine Congress, which was held from 17 to 20 September 1403 at the Iranian Scientific and Industrial Research Organization with approximately 900 papers, the special award of Dr. Parvaneh Ezmizfard (Distinguished Professor of the University of Tehran) and the late Dr. Morteza Esmaili (Distinguished Professor of the University of Tehran) and the title of the best plant medicine thesis in the country were awarded to Ms. Mahnaz Kohnsal, a doctoral student at Zabol University.

The findings of this research have so far resulted in the identification and description of new animal species in the form of eight papers. This thesis was conducted under the joint guidance of Ms. Dr. Sara Ramroudi (Zabol University) and Dr. Javad Noi (Birjand University) and the advice of Dr. Ehsan Rakhshani (Zabol University).

It is worth mentioning that the winners are four PhD graduates (two in each of the fields of agricultural entomology and plant pathology) who have published outstanding scientific articles from their dissertations (as determined by the jury).

In addition, Ms. Motaharah Amiri, a PhD student in the Department of Plant Science, University of Zabol, won the Best Scientific Lecture Award of the Congress.

The Iranian Plant Science Congress, as the largest and oldest national event in this important branch of agriculture, has been held every two years for about 50 years and has hosted hundreds of researchers from all over the country and other countries of the world. Simultaneously with the congress, the best PhD theses from the country's universities that have carried out original and valuable research are also selected and introduced.
