For the second consecutive year, two faculty members of the University of Zabol are among the top 1% of researchers in the world.

According to the university's public relations report,

According to the latest report presented in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database of Clarivate Analytics in September 2024, Dr. Behrouz Kashtegar (Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering) and Dr. Ehsan Ahmadifar (Associate Professor of the Department of Fisheries) were among the top 1% of researchers in the world.

It is worth noting that the performance of each researcher over a 10-year period based on the WoS database is evaluated based on three scientometric indicators: 1- The ratio of the total number of citations received to the total number of citing articles 2- The average number of self-citations per article 3- The average percentage of self-citations and 4- The ratio of the total number of citations received (excluding self-citations) to the number of citing articles (excluding self-citations) of an author. In this way, researchers in each discipline (22 subject areas of science) are sorted by the number of citations they receive, and then the top one percent of researchers are considered scientific elites based on ESI citation thresholds.
