Zabol University faculty members shine in the list of the world's top 1% most cited researchers (WOS-ESI), with a 50% increase compared to last year

According to the latest report from the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database affiliated with Web of Science, as well as analyses by the Islamic World Science and Technology Citation and Monitoring Institute (ISC), three faculty members of the University of Zabol were included in the list of the world’s top 1% highly cited researchers in 2025-1404. In this year’s assessment, Dr. Behrouz Kashtegar, Dr. Ehsan Ahmadifar, and Dr. Abbas Rahdar succeeded in achieving the position of highly cited researchers in the world, supported by their influential scientific activities and the publication of highly cited articles. This success was achieved while the University of Zabol had only two faculty members on this list last year, and this year, the number of highly cited researchers has increased to three, a significant growth of fifty percent.
The ESI database evaluates the performance of researchers over a ten-year period based on indicators such as the total number of citations received, the ratio of citations to articles, the share of self-citations, and the number of citations without self-citations, and introduces researchers who are among the top one percent of the most influential people in their scientific field to the list of the most cited in the world. The official ISC report also announced that 1,142 Iranian researchers were among the top one percent in the world in 2015, and their names have been published in the official hcr.isc.ac system. The inclusion of faculty members of Zabol University in this prestigious global ranking indicates a significant improvement in the quality of the university's scientific production and an increase in its position in international measurement systems.
