The Journal of Sistan and Baluchistan Studies of Zabol University was selected by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as the country's top scientific journal in the field of humanities (among 1079 journals), a unique and national honor for Zabol University and the Sistan and Baluchistan region. This great success was achieved while this publication also achieved Q1 rank in its first appearance in the 2024 assessment of the prestigious international Scopus database and was ranked among the top 25% of scientific journals in the world; a distinguished position that indicates the high scientific quality, rapid growth and international impact of this journal in the field of archaeological studies, history, art history and cultural studies. The importance of this achievement is doubled when we know that Sistan and Baluchistan is one of the oldest and richest centers of civilization in the Iranian Plateau and the world; A land with a history of several thousand years, from iconic sites such as Shahr Sokhte, Dahaneh Ghulaman, Mount Khajeh and dozens of prehistoric, historical and Islamic sites in eastern Iran, to intangible heritage, languages, arts and cultural traditions, it has unparalleled capacities for global scientific research. With a conscious focus on this civilizational geography, the Journal of Sistan and Baluchestan Studies, as the only scientific-cultural representative of this region at the international level, plays an important role in introducing, recognizing and transferring the historical and cultural heritage of eastern Iran to the world scientific community.
