The Journal of Sistan and Baluchestan Studies continues to shine internationally with a stable Q1 and a significant jump in scientific indicators

According to the latest assessment of the prestigious Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) database affiliated with Scopus, the Journal of Sistan and Baluchestan Studies has managed to maintain its top position in the first quartile (Q1) for the second consecutive year and at the same time recorded significant growth in key scientometric indicators.
According to the published data, the journal's SJR index has increased from 0.209 in 2024 to about 0.32 in 2025, indicating a growth of more than 50% in the journal's scientific impact and credibility at the international level. The journal's h-index has also been improved from 4 to 5, indicating an increase in the number of highly cited articles and strengthening the journal's scientific position.
Maintaining a position in the first quartile (Q1) along with such growth indicates a stable and upward trend in the performance of this scientific journal; a trend that is rarely observed in emerging journals and indicates careful scientific management, high quality of refereeing, and targeted selection of articles.
The Journal of Sistan and Baluchestan Studies, which focuses on the civilizational fields of eastern Iran, especially archaeological, historical, and cultural studies, has in recent years become one of the most influential publications in representing the scientific and civilizational capacities of the eastern part of the country at the global level.
This success is a manifestation of the scientific growth of Zabol University and the strengthening of its position as one of the scientific and cultural poles of eastern Iran; a position that is being consolidated in the global scientific system by relying on the rich heritage of the Sistan and Baluchestan region and its international approach.
Undoubtedly, the continuation of this upward trajectory will make the journal one of the most reputable references in regional studies at the international level.
