Design and construction of the "Abadis" laboratory device at the University of Zabol; a step in developing water and soil engineering research infrastructure

In order to develop laboratory technologies and strengthen the university's research capacities, the "Abadis" laboratory device was designed and built with the ability to simulate and control soil temperature; a system that can provide researchers with the ability to conduct more accurate and controlled studies in the field of soil and water engineering.

This device was designed and developed by Dr. Saeed Ghaedi, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Soil and Water Engineering of the University of Zabol, and his supervisor, Dr. Peyman Afrasiab, and was built with the aim of creating controllable laboratory conditions to study processes affecting transport in porous media (physical, chemical, and hydraulic).

"Abadis" as a specialized soil temperature simulator system has the ability to study heat transfer processes, contaminants, salts, nanoparticles, and other factors affecting water and soil behavior and can be used in a variety of laboratory research.

This device consists of a set of mechanical and electronic parts, a temperature control system, test columns, and a data recording and management unit, and allows for the adjustment and monitoring of thermal conditions with high accuracy. The use of temperature sensors and an intelligent control system has provided the conditions for conducting experiments in various research scenarios.

Among the capabilities of this system are the independent or simultaneous control of different parts of the device, adjusting conditions to suit research objectives, and conducting experiments in different temperature ranges; features that allow the simulation of various environmental conditions for specialized studies.

The design and construction of this device is a manifestation of the university's scientific and technological capabilities in the development of research equipment and support for technological ideas, and can provide the basis for promoting research, educational activities, and the development of interdisciplinary cooperation.

Finally, it should be noted that this device has been patented under the application number 140450140003008788 at the Intellectual Property Center of the National Document Registration Organization.
